Early Spring Time to Tackle Lawn Problems

WEED CONTROL & FERTILIZATION

Unless you love crabgrass,  spring until the middle of May is the time to have pre-emergent applied to your lawns and beds.

For those clients interested in limiting the use of chemicals, we offer two lawn care programs:

·      Our fully organic program uses corn gluten as its main ingredient.

·      Our hybrid program uses all organic fertilizers and limited use of weed killers.

Smith Tree and Landscape offers both commercial and residential lawn care services.

SNOW MOLD

If the melting snow left you with some unsightly brown patches, more than likely you have a case of snow mold.  The turf should recover with a fertilization treatment and a light raking.

MOLES

Many of our clients are reporting extensive mole damage on their properties.  We offer a season-long mole baiting program.  For more information, call our office at 321-3553.

GRUBS

We all enjoyed last year’s hot, dry summer.  Unfortunately, those conditions last year may mean more grub damage this year.  If you see dark patches in your lawn that are not greening up, it could be grub damage.  Call us at 517 321-3553 if you would like us to take a look at it.
